Recommendation: 4 (Really enjoyed & am satisfied)
Blushing Rating: Neutral / thriller & doesn't apply
The First Lie Wins by Ashley Elston is a classic thriller with all the twists and turns, secret identities, a mysterious boss, and a main character caught in a web of lies. With over 340,000 ratings and over 4 stars, this book should make it to your summer reading list.
The main character, E.V. Porter, is a devious woman who I could not figure out for a good portion of this book. From the outside, she has picture perfect life and is moving in with her boyfriend, but you soon learn that she seems very distrusting and hides a lot from him. I kept texting my fellow book friends sayings, "she feels so sketchy." You don't know if she is a good character or if she is a bad character.
This is a well written book with a fresh and different plot. The First Lie Wins jumps back and fourth between the past and the present day so you slowly learn more and more about the main protagonist. Building and building, I HAD to know what was going to happen, who was good, and who was bad!
Definitely recommend The First Lie Wins!
And P.S.
The First Lie DOES win!
